REV FR JOHN WACHIRA WANJOHI

The Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri and the family regrets to announce the sudden demise of Rev Fr John Wachira Wanjohi who went to be with the Lord in his sleep on the dawn of Saturday, 5th February, 2022.

The late Rev. Fr John Wachira Wanjohi is the son to Mr David Wanjohi and Mrs Ann Teresa Wangui Wanjohi of Gatuamba village, Gaturiri sub-location, Narumoru location, Thigu river ward, Kieni East Sub County in Nyeri County.

He was a brother to Rev Fr Patrick Maina (parish priest St Joseph Kangaita parish-Nyeri), Catherine Wanjiku Maina, George Gachuru and Julius Muriithi, brother-in-law to Zachary Maina and Beatrice Karegi. He was an uncle to Esther Gathigia Maina, Ann Bhakita Wangui Maina, Gregory Guama Maina, Ann Bhakita Wangui Gachuru, Rebecca Wangui Gachuru and Catherine Wanjiku Gachuru.

At the time of his demise, the late Fr Wachira had finished his studies at Nairobi University School of Law and was an assistant priest at Gatarakwa Catholic Parish.

Masses are being held daily at his parent’s home in Gatuamba Narumoru at 3:30 pm. There will be a vigil mass on Wednesday, 9th February, 2022 at Gatarakwa parish at 3:00 pm.

The cortege leaves St Michael funeral home on Thursday, 10th February, 2022, for a burial mass at Mathari pastoral ground beginning at 10:00 am and burial thereafter at Mathari clergy cemetery.
