Death and Funeral announcement Alison Achieng’ Nyaboke Rogo

It is with great sadness and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our precious Alison Achieng’ Nyaboke Rogo on Friday, 31st January, 2020 in Kitale after a long battle with and complications from Multiple Sclerosis.

Despite all she endured, her strong Christian faith and tremendous courage, together with her magnetic smile and concern for others has been a humbling experience. Knowing that Alison suffers no more and is in the hands of our Lord has brought a measure of peace to her family and friends„ She has left a void that can never be filled. We are devastated and miss her terribly. We thank you for your prayers and words of comfort and as we, her Family and Friends, take this journey to lay to rest our beloved ‘Ali”.

Alison had an illustrious career in the NGO sector with Pharmaciens San Frontieres in the same vein she went onto become a co-founder and MD for ORES International and had a long and successful HR consultancy career in Kenya and internationally. She undertook many other consultancies including Tullow Oil Kenya, Sight Savers International, JPHIEGO and the British Council.

Beloved daughter of Ambassador Orie Rogo-Manduli (Kitale/Nairobi) and John Jeremiah Ondieki (Nairobi) and Granddaughter to the late Gordon and the late Zeruiah Rogo (GEM) and the late Janai and the late Elizabeth Mariita (Irianyi). Second born sister to Eng. Mrs. Elizabeth (Agyeman) Rogo (TSAVO Oilfield Services), Janice Rogo (Kenya Pipeline Company) and Katyana Rogo-Manduli (Japan). Sister-in-law to Nana Yaw Agyeman (US) and the Agyeman family (Ghana). Step-daughter to Winifred “Aunty Winnie” Ondieki and older sibling to Dr. Florence Ondieki-Mwaura (JKUAT), Janet Ondieki (GIZ), Dr. Janai Ondieki (JKUAT), Peter “Kebaso” Ondieki (ABSA Bank) and Edward “Eddie” Ondieki (Cleveland, US). Special daughter to Lady Justice Joyce Aluoch (Rtd.) Judge and Mrs. Ida Odinga.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the wonderful home caregivers, doctors, nurses and physiotherapists in India (Medanta Hospital) and Kenya (Nairobi Hospital, Aga Khan Hospital and Cherangany Nursing Home – Kitale), the Multiple Sclerosis Association of Kenya and Rev. Philip Owuor (All Saints Cathedral – Hospital Minister/Senior Citizen Chaplain) who attended to her medical and spiritual needs during the last six years of her life.

CHURCH SERVICE INFORMATION – Harrison & Mary Geita, Funeral Directors (Delights Funeral Home, Eldoret) • NAIROBI – Friday, 21 February 2020 from 2 pm at All Saints Cathedral with a viewing session after the service. • KITALE – Friday, 28th February 2020 from 10 am at ACK St. Luke’s Pro-Cathedral Church. The cortege will escort Alison to her Mother’s farm at Tondorie Estate, Machewa, Kitale for an overnight vigil. • TONDORIE ESTATE – Last Rites & Burial will be held on Saturday, 29th February, 2020.
