It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our beloved former Councilor, Benson Nyakundi Samoita of Taracha Village, Kisii County.

Son of the late Samoita Mbaka and the late Nyamusi Nyang’wara. Husband of the late Ebisiba, the late Bathsheba, Joyce and Mary.

Beloved brother of Mbaka, Nyang’wara, Michira, Omwando, Binsari, Machoka, Kerubo, Mokong’u, Nyaboigo (all deceased) and Bonareri.

Beloved father of Joshua, Teresa, Eunice, Kefa (NIS, Central), Kennedy (Ouru Superstores) Evans (Min, of Energy), Beatrice, Jane, Naphtal (Bunduz, Nairobi), Daniel, Ondora, Dennis (NPS, Railways), Hebsiba, Agnes (KCB, Busia), Christopher, James, Dinnah, Richard, Benard, Samuel and Robert all of Texas, USA the late Elizabeth, Eunice, Ruth, Teresa and Risper. Beloved uncle of the Mbaka’s, Nyang’wara’s, Michira’s, Omwando’s, Mogaka’s, Mokongu’s, Jeremiah Samba (Advocate, Kitale), Ben Mogaka (Kisii), and Jeremiah Matagaro (Chairman State Corporations).

Beloved father in law of Joyce, Loice, Elizabeth, Josephine, Ann, Jackline, Milka, Everline, Hellen, Dinnah, Mellen, Emily, and Christine, the late Tabitha, Monda, Jared, John, Dr. Omori, Gad and Maina, the late Samuel Ombati, Ongwae and Mobisa. Beloved in-law of the late Tuntera, Matoke, Noah, Eliakim, Misati, Onsongo, Mogaka and Samba. Ekorera of the late Obutu, Omosa, Ombati, Kinanga, Onyiego, Kumenda, Bichanga, Nyamwaya, Nyabika, Onwong’a, Ogeto, Mogire, Gichana, Ondieki, Moreka, Bundi, Ogata, Ombongi and Mbunya.

He was blessed with over 91 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren.

The cortege leaves HEMA hospital mortuary on Thursday, 12.03.2020. Burial will be on Friday, 13.03.2020 at his home in Taracha village, Birongo Ward, Kisii County.
