DR EDWIN OYARO ONDIEKI

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden death of Dr Edwin Oyaro Ondieki who was a senior lecturer at the Department of Architecture at the University of Nairobi. Dr. Oyaro was a member of the BOM of Pangani Girls, Architectural Association of Kenya and Technical Sector Adviser at the National Construction Authority.

Husband of Kwamboka Oyaro and father of Aroha Kerubo, Zawadi Kemunto and Baraka Ondieki. Son of the late Chrisantus Ondieki and Mama Pacifica Kemuma of Mosocho, Kisii County. Step-son of Maria Moraa. Brother of Roselyn Nyanchama, Raymond Nyamweya, Joachim Mogire ‘Misii’, Dismas Mokua and Mark Angwenyi. He was a step-brother of Pacifica Kwamboka, Sabina Ondieki, Margaret Nyatuka, Godfrey Michieka, Beatrice Monchari, the late Joyce Ogake, Casper Asiago, Dominic Mokua and Ursula Moige.

Brother-in-law of Sam Moseti, Evelyn Nyamweya, Jardine Angwenyi, the late Leornard Matundura and Gilbert Ongaki, among others. Son-in-law of Mzee Damiano Manyura Omwenga and Angelica Nyamusi of Nyabungututu village, Nyabururu.

Cousin of the Matokes, Ong’utis, Nyarikis, Okindos, Nyangaus, Ongakis, Onsomus, Obiris and Charles Morira.

Uncle of Catherine Kemunto, Nicole Bosibori, Elizabeth Kemuma, Nicholas Nyakundi, Kalya Kerubo and Themba Ondieki as well as friend to many.

Daily meetings are ongoing at their Nairobi and Mosocho homes.

Requiem Mass shall be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at St Paul’s Chapel, UoN, at 11am.

The cortege leaves Chiromo Funeral Parlor for Kisii on Thursday June 9, 2022. Burial will take place on Friday, June 10, 2022 at his Mosocho home, next to Cardinal Otunga High School.

The main fundraising shall be held today, June 2, at the Public Service Club, Nairobi, from 5pm.
