Death of Francis Gitau Kinuthia

Appreciation

March 25, 1985 – Feb 15, 2020

We, the family of the late Francis Gitau Kinuthia, are immensely grateful to all our relatives. friends, neighbours, colleagues, service providers and wellwishers for their overwhelming support throughout the difficult time following his death in a tragic road accident on February 15, 2020. Your prayers, visits, messages of condolences, spiritual, financial and material support, presence and sympathy were and remain an immense source of comfort to us all. The sudden loss of Francis is difficult to bear but we draw strength and encouragement from the knowledge that he touched and impacted many lives with his readiness to help, benevolence, kindness, mirth and thoughtfulness, passion, clear vision and determination.

We appreciate the good Samaritans at Rolex (4N) on the Northern By-pass -the bodaboda operators and Uber taxi driver – who did all they could to save the life of Francis by taking him to hospital, and the medics who made every effort to save his life. We convey special thanks to the ACK All Saints Cathedral Church congregants and team of ministers, led by Rev Alfred Apeia, for being available to minister to Francis – in life and death; the faithful and ministers of AIC Maingi, Lari; the King’atua village community; and the Kenya Yearbook Editorial Board team.

Our appreciation also goes to the larger NHIF, Upperhill and Public Service Club community, the Karen ‘C’ Girls Secondary family; the Karen Hospital and Nation Sacco communities; the mentorship group Man Enough; the Kenya School of Government team; current and former members of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), friends from Korea currently living in Kenya. POSCO/ITTP Korea group and Kenyans living in Korea; (CT officers and colleagues in the various Government agencies and private institutions; his numerous friends in and outside Nairobi, especially the Kijabe Clan of Ngobit, Laikipia, and teams from Nakuru; and both the Nairobi (Nation Canteen) and Kineatua committees for the warmth, comfort and assistance in taking care of all the logistics involved in giving Francis a dignified and memorable send-off.

Finally to you all who in whatever way contributed to Francis’s send-off, kindly accept our immense appreciation and sincere gratitude.

Blessed are those who die in the Lord! Now they can rest for ever after their work, since their good deeds go with them.’ (Rev 14:13)
