HON. RICHARD NGULUKU KALEMBE NDILE

It’s with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Hon. Richard Nguluku Kalembe Ndile who passed on 30th May 2021 at the Nairobi Hospital after a short illness.

He was the son of the late Alfonce Ndile and Mama Philomena Nthonka. Loving husband to Magdaline Kamene Kalembe

He was loving father to Hon Catherine Mbithe, Anthony Wambua Kioko, Stephen Musyoka, Jascinta Wayua, Lucyanne Ndunge, Daniel Kyalo, Christine Mutheu, Mary Muthoki, Benjamin Ndile and Wilfred Mumo. He was brother to the late Joseph Kimilu, Mary Mueni, Priscila Kyumwa, Teresia Wayua, Sam Kinyingi Ndile and the late Julius Kituku Ndile.

Son-in-law to Nzuli Kilonzo and Nduki Nzuli. Brother in law to Jacob Muindu Kyole, Mr Moki and Mr Kamau. Grandfather to Cynthia Nthenya, Moses Muinde, Magdaline Kamenwa, Myles Navarro, Lilian Mutheu, Julian Mumbua, Favour Mumo, James Kalembe, Ramires Mandela, Zion Bruce, Caleb Kimilu, Liam Ndile, Richard Kalembe Nzyoki Junior, Angela Kaluki, Moses Kimilu and Gianna Moses.

He was a Member of Parliament, Kibwezi Constituency between 2003 – 2007 and an Assistant Minister for Tourism and Wildlife in H.E. Mwai Kibaki’s government. He also served as the Chairman of Makueni County Council and was a human rights and land activist. He was the founding leader of The Independent Party (TIP TIP), which later dissolved and merged with other parties to form the Jubilee Party of Kenya. He later became a member of Wiper Democratic Party of Kenya.

Until his demise he was a director at Tanathi Water Works and Development Agency (TAWWDA) and the CEO of Macha B Resort in Machakos Town. He had business interests spread across the hospitality industry, construction and real estate among others.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily for funeral arrangements in the following places; Greenpark Residence, Syokimau Residence, Mbui Nzau Residence, Macha B Resort Machakos, Mlolongo 3 D Hotel and Inter-County Hotel Portland Athiriver.

A mass on Tuesday 8th June 2021 from 5.00pm at St Veronica Catholic Church Syokimau.

A National requiem mass will be held at Holy Family Basilica on Thursday the 10th June 2021 at 10.00 am.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on 11th June 2021 at 5.00am. Burial will take place at Mbui Nzau, Kibwezi West Constituency, Makueni County the same day.
