In Memory OF Julia Wangui Ngunyi

In Memory

Sunset: 28th March 2019

It has been 365 days, several happy moments, countless tears since you left us. We have had the strength and courage to live through it all without you, because of the faith and trust in God you instilled in us. It’s been one year without you physically with us, but we have felt your presence through it all. We have carried on with the work you started, we have made sure to follow your ever-present advice and we have come to understand the gravity of the words you spoke just yesterday to us. Let me tell you, while you are up above with the angels, in our hearts your memories linger, your smile lingers, your words of wisdom keep ringing and sounding true; there’s not a day we don’t think of you. With every new day, we miss and love you more than yesterday. We all feel your love in our hearts from Heaven above where you are.

Today, you are lovingly remembered by your children Mwihaki, Kigo, Wairimu, Ngunyi and your son in law Danny and your S grandchildren. Affectionately remembered by your Sisters Wambura, Wanjiku, Muthoni and brother Gikonyo. Brothers in law Kimita and Mwangi.

In commemorating this first year, we also would like to thank your Doctors and team of nurses at Nairobi Hospital who were led by Dr. David Silverstein, they gave us the energy to carry on. We wish to acknowledge our other mum Mama Willy who tirelessly took care of you all through your illness. She was a pillar of hope on our very worst of days. Our family in Busia led by Mama Dora and Mzee Okwaro and friends Jane, Gitonga and Mburu for being there at our hour of need. The Spiritual support of Bishop Wainana of Emmanuel Worldwide Ministries who showed mum love, kindness, encouragement and prayed with her all through her illness and upon her demise. We would also want to recognize the moral and financial support provided by the Ministry of Interior.

Mum we see God’s blessings always through you. Your unique words of wisdom, your discipline and actions is what keeps us going in this world.

Mum, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure; you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
