MAJOR JACOB OWINY AGUNDA

It is with great sorrow that we announce the untimely demise of Major Jacob Owiny Agunda on the 13th of July 2020 following a tragic helicopter crash at Kithyoko, the general area of Masinga. Jacob hailed from Masogo, Kachola Village, Kochieng -East Sub-location, Kadibo Division, Kisumu County.

Loving husband of Beryl Anyango Owiny and dotting father of Maya Awuor Owiny. Son of the late Jephath Agunda Obala and mama Pamela Awuor Agunda. Son in-law of Mwalimu Tom Ochieng Okwaro and Mama Monica Ochieng and Phoebe Ochieng of Kisumu County. Brother of Evelyn Agunda, Alfred Agunda, Eli Agunda and Alice Agunda. Brother-in-law of Calvin Alaro, Centrin Kwaje, Adams Ochieng, Marion Toms, Dickens Ochieng, Kenneth Okwaro, Hillary Ngeso, Eastone Owino and Emma Ochieng amongst others.

Grandson of the late Canon Alfayo Oballa Owiny and the late mama Alice Oballa of Kachola and the late Elsaphant Apiyo and the late mama Jennifer Apiyo of Gem, Rai. Nephew of Allan Oballa, Bishop Matthew Sulwe, Dan Oballa, Babji Oballa, Haggai Obala, Sila Deya, David Aling, Eng. Laban Oyuke, Ayub Oruko, Jared Owiny Otwoma Ojwang, Joseph Odhiambo, Esau Ochieng, Devlin Apiyo, Tom Apiyo, Mary Kaluo, Prof. Aoyi, Emma Odongo, Benta Odero, Roseline Adhiambo, Rose Omolo, Millicent Obala, Anne Obala, Eunice Otieno, Benta Sulwe, Grace Owiyo, Jael Ojanga, Beatrice Haggai, Karen Aduwi, Dorcas Athoo, amongst others.

Cousin and friend to Beryl, Lavenda, Aileen, Nick, Mercie, Vin, Doc, Tony, Viona, Valeria, Isaac, Omondi, Kelvine, Winnie, Collins, James, Felix and Martin amongst others.

The cortege will leave Mashujaa Funeral Home (DFMH) tomorrow 23rd July 2020 for a requiem mass at DFMH Chapel at 8:00am.

The Burial will be held on 24th July 2020 at his ancestral home in Kacholla Village, Kochieng East, Kisumu County.
