MAMA JOSEPHINE AYIERA OGWENO

It is with profound sadness and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mama Josephine Ayiera Ogweno, which occurred on June 30, 2021 after a short illness.

Daughter to late Philip Odero Okumu and late Clementina Nyawiga of Kadem Kanyaruanda. Loving wife to the late Mzee Nathan Ogweno. Sister to Seraphina Akeyo, late Tex and Nyapala Odero, Obwere and late Ong’ute. Cousin to Dominic Omuga, Charles Omuga, Ellali, Grace & Johnie. Co-wife to Ruth Ogweno.

Loving mother o John Otieno Ogweno, Roselyne Ondiek, late Meresa Juma, late Debrah Olga, Damarice Amolloh, late Kenneth Ochieng, Millicent Ogweno, Jabes Ogweno, Lavender Ogweno and late Kennedy Ogweno. Step mother to Robert Ogweno, Everline Ogweno, Reagan Ogweno, Nathan Ogweno, Lydia Achieng and Irene Akoth.

Sister-in-law to late George Odondi, late Habakuk Omollo, Dursila Achieng, late Zilper Akeyo, late Barrack Olonde and late David Obuya, Omolo Miser and Otieno Elisha. Auntie to Margaret Ayalo & Johannes. Sister in law to Millicent Olonde, Ascar Omollo & Jane Odondi.

Mother-in-law to Ernest Yongo, Alex Amolloh, late Peter Odhiambo, late June Pauline,Thomas Sperling, Thomas Golker and Belinda Jabes. Grandmother Ayiera Ogweno to Arnold Ochieng, Nicole Amondi Otieno, Edwin Yongo, Brian Yongo, Francis Yongo, Mourine Odhiambo, John Oindi, Winnie Odhiambo, Nicolas Odhiambo, Sharon Odhiambo, Nicole Odhiambo, Daisy Amolloh, Vince Amolloh, Darren Ogembo, Jessie and Justine. Great Grandmother to Mitchel, Shania, Jeff, Melissa, Peter and Junior.

Family and friends are meeting virtually, and at her home for funeral arrangements.

The Cortege leaves Star Funeral Home, Kisumu on Friday 23rd July, 2021 at 6.00am for her home. There will be a memorial service followed by burial on the same day at her home in Kital village, Kawuor Location, Kendu Bay, Homa Bay County.
