She was daughter of Late Mungai Muchiri (Boiyo) and Late Lucy Wanjiku Mungai. Mother of James Mungai (Singh) and Martin Muchiri (NCCG). Mother-in-law of Anne Wanjiku Muchiri. Grandmother of Nelly Wairimu Mungai, John Itharia Mungai and Reagan Muchiri. Sister of Loise Wanjiru Njogu, the late Wanaga Kang’ethe, the late Robert Muchiri Mungai, the late David Munyui Mungai, James Ng’ang’a Mungai, John Mungai, Gilbert Munyui Mungai, Moses Ngugi Mungai, Serah Wanaga Mungai, Jane Mwihaki Mungai, David Munyui Mungai, Harrison Kamau Mungai and Stephen Kariuki Mungai.

Funeral arrangement is being held daily at her residence, Ruaka Miberethi.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Memorial Funeral Home on 27/03/2020 at 9.30 and thereafter funeral service will be held at her residence Ruaka, Miberethi.
