Death and Funeral Announcement of Oliver Mulanda, Lecturer at Kabarak University

Oliver Mulanda, a former Nation Media Group reporter who abandoned the newsroom for life in academia, collapsed and died on Wednesday March 4, 2020. He was 39.

The Kabarak University school of journalism lecturer collapsed during a meeting at the university, 15 kilometres from Nakuru Town.

His colleagues rushed him to Mediheal Hospital, Nakuru, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Mulanda was a lecturer at Kabarak University’s journalism department.

“We rushed him to the hospital but he died on the way. We don’t know much, but a postmortem examination will reveal what happened,” Dorcas Kebenei, his colleague said.

Mulanda worked at NMG for over five years, before landing a teaching job at Mount Kenya University as a lecturer in 2014 and later Kabarak in 2019.
