In humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the passing on of Professor Joseph Gatheru Karanja after a long illness, bravely borne.

Cherished son of the late Samuel and the late Wahito Karanja. Son-in-law to the late Wenceslaus Weru and the late Elizabeth Muthoni. Loving husband to Mrs. Margaret Njeri Karanja. Adoring father to Stella & Jeff Mitau, Liz Muthoni, Winnie & Danny Njuguna, the late George & Emily Karanja, Pete & Trish Weru and Jimmy & Cate Githinji.

Wonderful Grandfather to Ashley, Amilia, Silantoi, Isaac, Samwel, Christian, Ethan, Hadassah, Sante, Israel, Joel,Ayden and Ekrah.

Amazing brother to Elizabeth Wambui, Esther Wangari, the late Githinji, Harrison Mwangi, the late Wangui, Joseph Gichuki and the late Symon Wamahiu. Brother-in-law to Charles Mukiria, the late Joe Komu, the late Robert Mutahi, the late Anthony Kiama,Alice Nyatetu and Anastasia Kuraya. Uncle, cousin, in-law, friend, colleague and mentor to many.

Relatives and friends are meeting daily from 4:00pm, at the family home in Karen, followed by Mass at 5:00pm.

Cortege will leave Montezuma Funeral Home on Friday, 20th May, 2022 at 8:00am for Requiem Mass at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Parish in Karen and thereafter funeral at the family home.
