SUSAN AKINYI ACHIENG’

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that the families of JoKalango, JoKajowi and JokaOnyango announce the demise of Mama Susan Akinyi Achieng’ through a bravely borne illness on 13th October 2021.

Loving wife of Reverend Gabriel Atieno Achieng’ of Vosh Church-Rangwe and the mother of the late Judith, Hezron Ouma, Josiah Otieno, Ruth Akoth, Samwel Omondi and the late Gabriel Omondi. Grandmother to Derrick, Maelcy, Gabriella, Jowi, Mitch, Ylan and Stephanie. Daughter to Mzee Dalmas Osino and Siprina Osino of Nyalkinyi, Homa-Bay. Sister to Jacob, Thomas, the late Paul. Jeremiah, Maurice, Pricillah and Salome.

Daughter-in-law to the late Cosmas Achieng’ and Mama Margaret Odete. Mother-in-law to Ruth Muthoni Ouma, Sarah and Samuel Oranga. In-laws to Beatrice Njeri, Albert Kakai, Sabina & Peter Omaya, and Samuel Oranga’s of Kisumu Karateng’.

Matriarch to many including the Kogendo’s; Zakayo’s (Samuel, Otieno); Peter’s (Emmanuel); Nyabala’s (Tom & Caleb); Ayieko’s (Fred, Fr Abraham, Paschal, Bernard, Joseph, Maggie, Nicholas); Gworo’s (the late Agutu, Bsp. Benson, Florence, Millicent, the late Eunita, Grace, George, Fredrick, Collins, Debora, Janet, Elphas, Evelyne, Godwins, Jacob, the late Jared, Judith, Kennedy), Onyony’s, Okambo’s; (Omondi, Eddy, Beryl, Thatcher,Vivianne, Derrick, Brenda and many others); the Nyauchis (Otieno, Kondele, Peter and many others); the Okellos (Imelda, Liz, Kelly, Steve and many others); Kowino (Godorn, Marcel, Elly, Edward, Otheo); the Ajowis (Ochieng’, Koyieyo, Auma, Okinda’s, Odede’s, Oyoo’s); JokaOnyango (Eng.Wilfred Oginga, Dan, Jokapiyo and many others).

Sister-in-law to Dalmas Onyony, Everest Okambo, Andrew Okambo, Rusalia Oyugi, Mary Weke, Salome Achieng, Teresia Odero, Rusalina Aoko, Siprina Akuku, the late: Zakayo Ogendo, Peter Nyajowi, Lawrence Nyabala, John Auma, Rapahel Gworo, John Ajowi, Henry Ajowi, Michael Suds, Charles Ayieko, Cornel Apiyo and, Philip Okambo,Abigael Ager, Sofia Akinyi and Sarah Odero.

An aunt to Kennedy, Achieng’, Kadogo, Hilda, Frank, Laboso, Jenta, Linda, Daisy, Awuor, Okoth, Odin and Grace and many others.

There will be harambee on Wednesday, 27th October 2021 at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi from 4.00pm.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home, Nairobi on Friday 29th October 2021. A service and burial will be held on Saturday 30th October 2021 at 9.00am, Kalango Village, Rangwe, Homa-Bay County.
