TIRAS MBURU CHEGE

It is with great humility and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing to glory of our Patriarch, Mr.Tiras Mburu Chege.

He was the loving husband to Anne Gathoni Chege (formerly of Barclays Bank of Kenya). They both served as Directors at New Hope Children’s Centre — Uplands, Limuru. Father to Regina Njambi Ekhalie (S C Johnson), Dr. Catherine Njeri Otieno (Prodigy Healthcare Ltd) Anthony Chege Mburu and Caroline Waithira Ng’aru. Father-in-law to Sir Richard Ekhalie (Sportsbiz Ltd), Dr. Gerald Otieno Oyugi (Prodigy Healthcare Ltd) and Eng. Philip Ng’aru Murungi (Kent Africa Ltd) Grandfather to Javan & Richie Ekhalie, Jason, Justin & David Otieno.

Son of the late John Chege Githira and Esther Njambi Chege. Son-in-law to the late Zakayo Kamau and the late Lucia Njeri Kamau. Brother to the late Zipporah Waithera, Peter Waireri, the late Francis Kinyanjui, the late Stephen Karinge, Margaret Gathitu, Nancy Kariithi, Elizabeth Chege, George Wathangana, Anne Njeri Chege, Samuel Mbugua and Eunice Maina. Half-brother to the late Wallace Mburu, the late Jehoniah Wanyoike, the late Danson Kinyanjui, the late David Njuguna, the late William Wathagana, Benson Kimani, Reverend Stephen Njoroge, Grace Waithera Kimani & the late Margaret Njambi Waruinge; the late Ruth Mugure, and the late Mary Wanja.

Brother-in-law to Lydia Waireri, Wangechi Kinyanjui, Margaret Karinge, Mark Gathitu, Dr. George Kariithi, Chege Mwangi, Jessica Wathagana, the late Carol Mbugua, and Maina Gatimu; the late Peter Karungo, the late Julius Kamau, Sarah Kamau, the late Samuel Maingi, Mary Njoki, Michael & Nancy Chege, John & Josephine Mathu, Allan & Rev. Jacinta Mburu. Cousin, Uncle, Grand & Great-grand father to many.

Friends and family are meeting daily at the All Saints Cathedral from 5.30 a.m.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Saturday, 4th June, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. for a funeral service and burial at his home in New Hope Children’s Centre — Uplands, Limuru.

Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not. Rest in God’s Eternal Peace, our beloved Patriarch.
