WALTON ONYANGO MAYAMBA

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on of Mzee Walton Onyango Mayamba. 

He passed away peacefully at St. Vincent Hospital in Muhoroni.Walton was from Gem Yala, Anyiko.

Husband of the late Gladys Olwande and the late Margaret Akida, Brother of Janet Onyango, Harun Raringo, the late Anne Okota, Miriam Atanda, Pamela Akinyi, and the late Rebecca Wambi.

Father of Isabel Adem of Gem Rae, Dorothy Onyango (CEO of WOFak), Maj. Gen. (Rtd.) and High Commissioner George Owino, and Allan Okwiri.

He was Father-in-law of George Odingo, Pamella Olwal, Maj. Gen. Fatuma Ahmed, and Mary Akim. 

He was Uncle of Grace Muga, Roseline Ochieng, Amos Ochieng, Joseph Ooko, Hulder Adhiambo, Nancy Akinyi, Rose Atieno, Sarah Onyango, Paul Raringo, Caleb Raringo, Edwin Raringo, Dora Raringo, Jessica Raringo and Esther Raringo. 

He was Grandfather of Jaqueline Ruben, Andy Mayamba, Roy Omondi, Brian Adem, Brenda Odingo, Dr. Bertha Odingo, Kevin Owino,Vanessa Awuor, Naama Akinyi and George Eliah.

He was great grandfather of Dannell, Doro, Jeff, Andre and Amare.

The cortege will depart St Vincent De Paul Mission Hospital Muhoroni on Friday November 29th, 2024 at 11:30 am for Requiem Mass. After which He will be taken to his  home for a night vigil.

The funeral service will be held at Tamu Primary School grounds on Saturday November 30th, 2024 at 8:30 am and burial will follow thereafter at His home.
