ANDREW CHEMIAT NASONGO

1961 – 2021

We celebrate the life of Andrew Chemiat Nasongo, CEO of Chwele Business Agencies. Prior to opening his own engineering and construction company he worked at Bamburi Cement, Rank Xerox. Copy Cat and Athi River Mining. He left us to be with our Lord on the 20th of January 2021.

Son of the late Mama Janet Amina Shode, Mama Rachel Nasongo and Mzee Nelson Nasongo Chemiat of Chwele, Bungoma county. Nephew to Ruth Saburi and the late Nicholas Osaho Odindo of Mombasa, Kenya and Professor Gad Kilonzo and Susan Raheli of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, amongst many others. Son-in–law to the late Agostino Wamwandu and the late Salome Monthe of Bura Stashoni, TaitaTaveta. Grandson of the late Mama Nelima and Rev. Andrea Chemiat of Chwele, Bungoma, the late Mama Kirindi Nakizwa and Pastor Paulo S. Kilonzo of Suji, Same – Tanzania.

Hand in hand with Lucy Katilo Chemiat they created a loving home for their children – Nicholas Chemiat Nasongo, Janet Amina Shode, Salome Monthe Chemiat and Tony Muteti, Peter Mkuku, Lucas Mrombo, Salome Monthe, all warmly embraced as part of the family. A loving grandfather of Lucy Katilo Chemiat and Kyle Muteti. Brother to Joseph Wafula, Hon. Tony Odindo, Stephen Nasongo, Kirindi Odindo, Antonina Odindo, Nelima Nasongo, Andrew Chemiat Nasongo, Japhet Barasa Nasongo, and Grace Nasongo. Brother-in-law to Catherine Wamwandu, the late Anna Wamwandu, Kamene Wamwandu, and John Wamwandu. Andrew was a friend to all and was loved by many. He will be surely missed by his family and friends.

We bid him farewell, at his home in Mfutuu, Bungoma on 30th January 2021.
