It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Benardette Mulunde Mwati, a retired Teacher, who passed away on 19/01/2024 following a period of illness bravely borne.

Loving wife of the late Jackson Munywoki Mwati.

Beloved daughter to the late Musee Maliti and the late Malia Kasaya. Daughter. in-law to the late Wilson Mwati Nzambu, late Damaris Mueni Mwati and Phillis Kavengi Mwati.

Mother to Peter Mwendwa, Stella Vengi, Andrew Ndemwa, late Mary Were and Michael Muthui. Mother in-law to Roseann Kinya, Macmillan Were, Rose Katunge & Deborah Umazi. Grandmother to Henry Munywoki, Neil Mwendwa, Elijah Were, Sasha Mulunde, Meghan Nkatha, Jason Munywoki, Laura Nzisa, Leo Munywoki, Mary Mulunde & Gabriel Munywoki.

Sister to the late Lemba Musee, the late Daniel Masai, the late Bibiana Mwangi, the late Emilia Mutongoi, the late Yuma Katukya, the late Kamunya Musee, the late Gabriel Kakungi, John Muvea, the late Christopher Musee and Marita Mulei.

Sister-in-law to Julius & Jennifer Musyoka, Josephine Kilonzi, Onesmus Mwati, Mathia & Pauline Kimani, Julia Kathembe, Rev. Cosmas & Francisca Mwati, Makau Mwati, Kasyoka Kimanzi, Mary Muthui,Vethi Mwati, Chief Joel Mwati & Rachael Sammy, Seli Nzoka, Julius Muthui, Muthui Munyasya, Queen Mitau, Kawia Kaseki, Pricilla Gabriel, Florence Muvea, Mulei Mitau, among others.

She leaves behind many nieces & nephews among them; Rose Musyoka, Wilson Musyoka, Kioko Kilonzi,Wangari Muthaura, Eric Mwati, Moses Muthui, Mwendwa Mitau, Maria Francis, Benard Kainga, Fr. Peter Muvea, Philip Kawia, Ngami Charles, Constancia Kakungi, Peter Christopher & Muingo Mulei. She is a cousin, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother to the larger Mbaa Kanyaa and Mbaa Nzambu families.

Family & friends are meeting daily at her home in Kaluni Village, Kitui West.

The cortege leaves Tribute Funeral Home – Kitui on Saturday, 27th January 2024 at 8.30am for a requiem Mass and burial at her home in Kaluni Village, Kauwi Ward, Kitui County.
