It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on to glory of our beloved Mother, Mrs. Cecilia Mirigo Mwai on Thursday, 9th June 2021.

Daughter of the late Kabono Gichuki and the late Grace Wambui Kabono. Loving wife to Gerald Mwai Mutongu. Mother of Eunice Wothaya, Julius Mutongu, Eudita Wangechi, Joseph Kabono, Grace Wambui, Peterson Nderitu, Jacinta Wamucii, Regina Wagaki, late Martin Gichuki and Julia Wangui.

Sister to Wamweru, late Gitonga Kabono, late Ndegwa Kabono, late Wamucii, Nyanguthii Wanjohi, Wangui Berengu, late Wathuti, Nyaguthii Gathii and late Maina wa Kabona. Mother-in-law to John Thuita, Robert Kinyua, Wambui Mutongu, Wangui Kabono na Partrick Gitau. Sister in law to Wangechi Muchuki, Wagaki Ngari na Michael Mugambi Grandmother to Mwai, Mirigo, Jackline, Karen and many more.

Meetings are being held at Abbey Hotel Nairobi and at her home Rukira Village.

The cortege leaves Kiriaini Funeral Home on Thursday 17th June at 9.00am. Funeral service will be held at Birithia Catholic Church starting 11.00am. Burial thereafter at her farm, Kagongo, Rukira village, Othaya Nyeri county.

Rest in peace Mama, you have finished your race. The crown of righteousness awaits you.
