Son of the late Miano Kagunga and Nancy Wangari. Brother of Beatrice Kabwire, the late Wanjiru Kiragu and Teresia Wairimu. Step Brother of the late Peter Wamai, Salome Wambui, Wanja Kageta and Njagi Miano. Husband of Teresia Muthoni. Father of Rosemary Maina of OAG, Nancy Segendorf of Germany, John Muriithi of UON, Michael Mwangi of Starehe Boys Centre, Julius Wachira — Eldoret, James Maina (Kagecha) of UON.

Father in-law of Maina Gitimu, Andreas Segendorf of Germany, Ann Wangui, Beatrice Wachuka, Lily Wangui and Pauline Carreon. Grandfather and uncle of many.

The cortege leaves St. Michael Mathari Hospital Thursday, 7/5/2020, at 11.00 am, the burial will take place at his home Mathia Village next to Ndima Tea Factory.
