EDWARD BAARS

It’s with great sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Edward Baars, IITA/GOPA on 15th May, 2023 in Lodwar, Turkana. Until his death he worked as Team Leader/Country Project Advisor, TurkanalMarsabit Project Senior Agribusiness officer Norad Project based in Nairobi.

He was born to Willem Baars and the late Hennie Baars.

Husband to Mercy Muthoni Mwaura-Baars. Father to Steve Mwaura Baars, Henrica Baars, Vanessa Baars, and William Baars.

Brother to Saskia Schaap-Baars.

Son-in-law to the late Stephen Mwaura Kanyara and Nancy Njeri Mwaura. Brother-in-law to Veronicah Wanjiru,Thomas Kanyara, John Kamau, Martin Mbatia and Paul Kimani. He has left many nephews, nieces and was a cousin to many.

Meetings are held daily at the family residence in Garden Estate, 3rd Avenue, house number 11, from 4.00pm – 8.00pm daily.

A memorial service is planned for Sunday, 21stMay, 2023 at 3:00pm at Ridgeways Baptist Church, Kiambu Road.

The burial will be held on Wednesday 24th May, 2023 at the family’s farm in Gatamaiyu area in Naivasha, Nakuru County. The cortege will depart Lee Funeral Home at 6.00am.
