FRANCIS MAINA KABONAH

It is with humble acceptance to God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Mr. Francis Maina Kabonah of Rukira Village, Othaya, Nyeri County. Formerly of Immigration Department, and Treasurer of Taifa Sacco. He was the Founder and Director of Riverbank Academy, St. Cecilia Girls High School, Nyahururu and Nyahururu Medical Training College.

Son of the late Kabono Gichuki and the late Lucy Wangui Kabono. Loving husband of Cecilia Wanjugu. Father of Anthony Kabono, Lilian Wambui, Stephen Murage, James Gichuki, Catherine Wangui and Peter Mwangi. Son-in-law of Lilian Wambui Murage and the late Stephen Murage Mundiu. Father-in-law of Sammy Muthama, Leone Wangeci, Salome Wahito, Melford Ndungu and Teresa Watiri. Brother of Ruth Wamweru Mwangi, Gitonga Kabono, the late Wamucii King’ori, the late Ndegwa Kabono, Ruth Nyaguthii Wanjohi, Wangui Berengu, the late Lucia Wathuti, Lucia Nyaguthii Gathii,and Cecilia Mirigo Mwai.

Grand Father ofTony Muthama, Cate Waithira Muthama, Claret Wanjugu Murage, Delcine Muringi Murage, Liana Wangui Murage. Grace Wanjugu Gichuki, Francis Maina Gichuki, Lilo Sonia Ng’ae, Serge Boniface Ng’ae and Precious Wanjugu Mwangi. Brother-in-law of Florence Wairimu Maina, Peter Kamotho, Bernice Nyaguthii Wanyaga, Nancy Wanjiku, Charles Karinga, Wanjiru Gitonga, Gathoni Ndegwa, Wanjohi Manyagi, Thuita Githuku, Samuel Berengu, Gathii Maina and Mwai Mutongu. Uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his home in Rukira Village, Othaya. Other meetings will be held on Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th October, 2020 at Cardinal Otunga. Plaza (Holy Family Basilica) and the Jacaranda Hotel, Westlands, Nairobi at 6.00 PM. There will also be meetings going on in Nyahururu Sports Club.

There will be a requiem mass on Wednesday 28th October, 2020 at Nyahururu Catholic Cathedral at 2.00pm.

The Cortege will leave the MP Shah Hospital Mortuary on Friday 30th October, 2020 at 6.30am.The funeral service will be at Birithia Catholic Church, Othaya at 11.00am. Thereafter the body will be laid to rest at his farm, Rukira Village Othaya, Nyeri County. All Covid -19 Protocols will be observed.

Francis Maina Kabonah has fought the good fight, he has kept the faith, and he has finished the race. Praise be to God.
