GEORGE SUNDA MATINDE

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the untimely demise of ndugu George Sunda Matinde of Nyakach Jimo, Stopamba who passed away on 26th June 2020 at Kijabe Hospital after a short illness.

Beloved son of the late Vincent and the late Clernentina Matinde of Nyakach Jirno. Son in law of the late Habil Lisiasia and the late Martha Lisiasia of Anyiko, Yala. He is the loving husband of dada Jane Akumu Sunda. Father of Anne Sunda, Martha Sunda, Elizabeth Sunda and Isaac Sunda. Grandfather of Isaac Ado Onyango, Joy Awino Onyango, Duncan Otieno Onyango and Tehilla Amor. Brother of the Late Lawrence Okuom Matinde, Rev. Vitalis Aduwa Matinde, the late Kennedy Oyoo Matinde, Rev. Magdalene Ogutu and the late Joseph Ng’ong Matinde.

Father-in-law of Remmy Baraka, Onyango Omogo and Stephen Maingi. Brother-in-law of Dorcas Matinde, Sarah Aduwa, Bishop Daniel Ogutu K’ogembo, Dorcas Geno, the late Isaiah Wandiga, the late Manas Kumar, the late Samson Otengo and John Omondi. Cousin of Aton Matinde, Ornondi Ogutu, Charles Amimo among others. His uncles include Thomas Aol and James Owino Oyoo. His aunts include dada Selina Ojamba, Helena Ogutu among others. He was uncle, cousin and friend to many both in Kenya and beyond.

He will be buried at his home in Lower Nyakach Jimo East, Stopamba, in Kisumu County on 6th July 2020.
