HON. JAMES LUSWETI MUKWE, MP KABUCHAI CONSTITUENCY

1st January, 1961 – 4th December, 2020

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Hon James Lusweti Mukwe (MP Kabuchai Constituency) on 4th December 2020 at the Nairobi Hospital.

The late Hon Mukwe was the Member of Parliament for Kabuchai Constituency where he served diligently and with commitment until his demise. He was serving his second term having been first elected in 2013 Previously he was the Chairman of Bungorna County Council from 2004 to 2007 and as a Councillor of Chwele Ward between 2002 and 2012. Hon Mukwe was an astute politician having joined politics in 1992 and he will be remembered for his resilience, focus, determination and dedication to the people he served.

He was son to the late Mzee Timonah Mukwe (Omucchalo) and the late Martha Nasimiyu (Omukiyabi). He was husband to Gladys Mamati Lusweti, Silviah Lusweti and Christine Lusweti. Father to Hillary Kisiang’ani (Zetech University), Anne Kiluyi (TUK), Erick Mukwe (RVIST – Nakuru), Charity Joshua Mamati (TUK), Gloria (Chwele Girls High sch), Joy (All Saint’s Cathedral Pri sch), Martha Nasimiyu, Phoebe Kiluyi, Samuel Wakapisi, Morgan WakapIsi Lusweti and Lindah.

Grandfather to Mercy Situma and Mike Wahaula. Brother to the late Phoebe Kiluyi, late Mary Nekesa, late David Wakapisi, Zipporah Nelima, Ezekiel Kisianiani, Hellen Nakhisa, Jamin Situma, Margaret Nasipwondi and Jean Wakoba. Nephew to the late Shadrack Wamunyinyi, Tumwa, late Rael Khayaki, late Robai Masibo, Pius Namwenya, Fred Khaemba, Ruth Nabangala and Daniel Namwenya.

Cousin to Samuel WakapisI, Robert Wamunyinyi, Allan Barasa, Dinnah, Loise, Lenah, Esther, Elizabeth, Ayub Wakapisi, Tumwas, Kipels, Kimawachis among others. Son in-law to the late Charles Mamati and Lenah Nekesa Marroti. Brother in-law to Jason Mamati, John Mamati, Jafred Mamati, David Mamati (Office of the President), Prof Edward Mamati (jKUAT), Francis Mamati (Kisii Unlviersity), Esnas Burudi, Grace Nasiuma, Bertha Lubekho, Sarah and the late Radio. He was an uncle to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at All Saints Cathedral on weekdays and at his residence in Madaraka Estate on Saturday and Sundry.

The family has organised a fundraising to support funeral expenses to be held on Tuesday 15th December 2020 at United Kenya Club from 5.00 PM.

There will be a memorial service on Thursday 17th December, 2020 at Langata Friends Church at 2.00PM.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Friday 18th December 2020 for Bungoma. Hon. Mukwe will be laid to rest on Saturday 19th December 2020 at his home in Sanandiki Village, Chwele Bungoma County.
