It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing on of Hon. Kennedy Michira Mainya of Kisii County Assembly. Hon. Mainya was a Second Term Member of County Assembly representing the people of Kiamokama Ward of Nyaribari Masaba Consituency in Kisii County. Until his demise, Hon. Mainya was a Member of the Speaker’s Panel and the vice chair to the Sectoral Committee on Trade, Tourism & Industry.

Son of the late Mzee Reuben Mainya Oeri and Mama Basibika Nyaruri Mainya. Loving husband of Rose Kerubo Michira. Father of Perminus Michira, Stanslus Mogesa Michira and the late Bosire Michira. Brother of Bathsheba Kwamboka Otieno (USA), Askah Momanyi (Molo), Rose Moranga, Hebsiba Nyambane, Jerusa Ouko, Engineer Samuel Oeri (Kajiado), David Mainya (Principal Ibeno Sec School), Robert Nyakenanda, Jane Onyanzo, Josephine Nyang’ate, Joseph Ondari, Josephine Oeri (Muranga), Jerusa Gethemba (Principal Rigoma Girls) and Hellen. Son-in-law of Mzee Stephen Anyona Morebu and Mama Hellen Kemunto Anyona. Brother-in-taw to Elijah Nyakundi, James Nyagala, George Morara, Edward Onsano, Cosrnas Ayiega, Caleb Otieno (USA), Isaac, Moranga, Josiah, julius and late Samuel Nyambane.

Burial preparation and prayer meetings are going on daily at his home.

The funeral cortege leaves The Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary on Thursday 12th November, 2020 for a funeral service at Gusii Stadium, followed by an overnight stay at his home. The burial service will be held on Friday 13th November. 2020 at his home, Getacho Moremani Village Kiamokama, Kisii County.
