It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the peaceful resting of Jane Mumbi Gathuthiri, that occurred on 28th November, 2020, in Subuku township, Simbara Scheme, Nyandarua North Sub-county.

Daughter of the late Miano Gitonga and the late Wangui Miano. Loving wife of the late Johnson Gathuthiri (Tetu). Sister of the late John Ndegwa Miano. At the age of 100 years, she has been survived by several generations. Loving mother of Esther Njeri Kamau (Mweru Primary School, Nyeri), Margaret Wanjira (Nyahururu) and Alice Warutumo (KPMG, Nairobi). Mother-in-law of Daniel Warutumo and the late Francis Kamau. Grandmother of Jane Mumbi, Johnson Kamau, Mary Wambui, the late Munyaka Maina, Wallace Kiama, Peter Kihara, Rev. David Gitundu (PCEA), Alfred Warutumo, Johnson Warutumo, among others. Great-grandmother of Antoneatte, Wambugu, Wangui, Emily, Nathan, Samuel, Blessed, Pictor, Esther, Francis, Muriuki, Purity, Wanjiku, Victor, James, Collins, Rhama, Stellah and James among others. Aunt of Elizabeth Wangui, Winnie Nyaguthie, Ruth Wacuka and others. Beloved friend to many.

The cortege will leave Nyahururu Referral General Hospital, on 9th December, 2020 for her home in Subuku Township, Simbara Scheme, Nyandarua North Sub-county where the burial will be held at 11.00am.
