JANET AKINYI OWUOR

We regret to announce the death of Mrs. Janet Akinyi Owuor following a short illness.

Wife of Mr. Joseph Jan Owuor (J.J.). Mother of Susan Apudo, Kevin Were, Francis Odhiambo and Angela Achieng’. Daughter of the late Mzee Benjamin Ongoro Mango and Mama Dinah Aoko Ongoro of Gem Akala. Her siblings included Mary Odondo Apiyo, Rose Danga, Perez Ayoo Mirasi, Evans Onduso, Ruth Atieno (all five deceased), Ronald Ngala, Dorothy Achieng’ and Esther Akoth. She was cousin to many.

Daughter-in-law to the late Andrea Okul and Mama Herenia Okul. She was sister-in-law to Consolata Oyuu, Maurice Okul, Margaret Omondi, Florence Atieno, Nicholas Okul and Pamela Atieno. Mother-in-law to Mr.Tom Imbo, Mrs. Sharon Awuor Were and Mrs. Juliet Amboko Owuor. She was the grandmother to Deloris Achieng’, Aaron Joe Owuor, Chad Odhiambo, Jeanerte Gweth, Annette Akinyi and Imani Stacy Awuor.

She taught at various schools including St. Marys Yala, Ambira High School and Bondo TTC among others.

The burial ceremony will be held on 7th July 2021 at her home in Seme, Katieno East Sub-location, Barkorwa.
