Janet Chiakwalu passed away peacefully at 100 years old on 27th February. She is the daughter of Late M’Mirithu and Chiabaing’oni.

Sister of Chiamutua, Mwonkari, Japhet M’Buchianga.Wife of the late Marko M’Tuamwari.

Mother of Alice Nkanachi. Rev Dr Samuel Kobia, the late Stanley Kathurima, Tabitha Mwonjiru, the late Richard Muthaura, the late Gacheri, Zakayo Mworia. Mother-in-Law of Silas Kithuure, Ruth Njira, Karimi Thirungu, David Nturibi, Jennifer Chiomaua, Rael Kanyua. Grandmother of late Eva Karimi, the late Patrick Mwiti, Regina Kinya, Ezra Kalung’e, Kaburo Kobia, Nkatha Kobia, Mwenda Kobia, Mutua Kobia, Harriet Kamathi, Judy Karambu, Jonathan Mutuma, Susan Maiti, Ann Kinanu, the late Schoia Kianiru, Faith Kairuthi, the late Mercy Gakii, Joshua Muriungi, Eunice Kathuure, Eric Muriuki, Kevin Muthaura, Linda Gatwiri, Martin Kimathi, Farida Mwendwa, Flossy Karambu, Brian Munene. Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother of many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at the deceased home at Rwongo rwa Nyanki, Tigania West, Meru County.

In Nairobi meetings will be at All Saints Cathedral Tuesday and Wednesday at 5pm. A memorial service will be held at Lavington United Church Thursday 5th March at 3pm. Burial will take place at Rwongo rwa Nyanki on 7th February 2020.
