JOSEPH MENJA KIHARA

It is with deep sorry that we announce the passing on of Mr. Joseph Menja Kihara on Saturday 13th March 2021 at Kenyatta university teaching, referral and research hospital after a long illness bravely borne.

He worked at many institutions amongst them Kagumo Teachers College, Kenya Technical Teachers College (Gigiri), Nairobi Technical Institute, and at Machakos Teachers College as a Distinguished Educationists. He was a distinguished author of many mathematics books amongst them the best selling Understanding Mathematic Series (Longhorn). He was the Proprietor of Tassia Hill Academy (Primary and Secondary) in Embakasi.

Son of the late Rukwaro Wainoga and the late Njeri Rukwaro of Kianganda village, Karima Location, Othaya, Nyeri County. Husband to Mary Wairimu Menja kihara and Salome Wanjiru Menja Kihara. Son-in-law to John Kariuki Kiugu and the late Teresa Waithera Kariuki and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Njuguna Wanyoike of Kiambu County. Father to Stephen Kihara Menja, Consolata Njeri Menja, the late John Kariuki Menja, Teresa Waithera Menja,Veronica Njeri Menja, Paul Kihara Menja and Agatha Nyambura Menja. Brother to Serah Wanja, the late james Kahunyo, Martha Waceke Gatutu and the late Luka Wainoga of Endaraslia.A grandfather, cousin, uncle, friend and mentor to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his residence in Kahawa Sukari Estate at 5.00pm, Isiolo Road 2nd South Avenue (Dove Court) House Number: 2924, for prayers and funeral preparations.

The body lays at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral And Research Hospital. Burial will be on Friday 26th March, 2021 in Othaya, at Kianganda village, near Gitandara Resort at 11.00am
