It is with great sadness that we announce the promotion to glory of Joseph Mutai Matiri, which occurred on 17th Sept 2021 at Milimani Hospital after ailing for a while.

Son to the late Ex-Chief Gideon M’Tuerandu (Machuguma) and the late Sarah and late Charity. Husband to the late Sarah Kanyiri Mutai. Father to Mary Mukomunene (Mombasa), Kenneth Kithinji (Formerly Kaaga Boys), Faith Naitore (Meru), Alfred Murithi (Mombasa), Magistrate Lucy Mutai (Nanyuki Law Courts), the late Makandi and Lydia Kinya (Nairobi).

Brother to Ruth and the late Justus Kabiti, Flora and John Gituma, Marion and the lace Gikunda, Josephine and the late Solomon, Bishop Gitonga and Marcella, Margaret and the late Mbogori, Elijah and Rael, Dr. Muthuuri and Doris, Eng. Kirimi and Eunice, Kimathi and Joyce, Kimaita and Anne, the late Beatrice and Rev. Mbogori, Kania and Marete, Kimonye and Mary.

Father-in-law to Jeff Guantai, Dr. Kanana Kithinji (KICD), Joel Kabiti, and the late Lydia Karimi. A doting grandfather to Mutembei, Nkirote, Gakii, Mwenda and Kendi, among others. A great-grandfather to many.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at his son’s (Mr & Mrs Kithinji’s ) residence at Kaaga-Kanthiga Iriene from 4:30pm, for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves Meru Funeral Home on Friday 24th September, 2021 at 8.30am, for a funeral service and interment at his Chiburie Village home, Katheri starting at 10:00am. Covid-19 protocols will be strictly observed.
