MAJ. (RTD) JOSEPHAT NATHAN IRUNGU

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to Glory of Maj. (Rtd) Josephat Nathan Irungu that happened on 06.09.2021, after a long illness that was bravely borne.

Son to the late John Muiruri Irungu and the late Grace Mukami and a stepson to Peris Wairimu (Mukori). Beloved husband to the late Mary Wanja lrungu and Elizabeth Njoki lrungu. He was the loving father to Robert Muiruri lrungu, Grace Mukami, Beatrice Wairimu, Winnie Nyambura, Jackline Wanjiru, Edna Mukami, Cynthia Nyambura and Edwin Muiruri.

He was father-in-law to Edith Muiruri, Asu Mkanda, Patrick Kamau and MikeWasonga. He was a grandfather to many. Brother to Patrick Wamwea, Julius Peter Wainaina and Catherine Mbeere and stepbrother to Irungu Muiruri, Rose Nyambura, Henry Nduniu, the late Mary Wanjiru and the late Flora Wambui.

Family and friends are meeting at his home in Kahawa Sukari Estate and his rural home in Kabati, Muranga County.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday 12th August at 2pm at ACK St. Peter’s Church, Kahawa Sukari.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Funeral Home on Tuesday 14th September 2021 at 8.00am for a funeral service at St. Stephens Church in Riandegwa Kabati. Murang`a County.
