It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mama Hellen Amimo Olewe.

Loving wife of the late Mzee John Omire Olewe. Daughter of the late Hosea Asola Yimbo and Turposa Akumu Oludo of Nyakach Kusa-Kajimbo. Mother of Lillian Akoth, Prof. Ochieng’ K’Olewe (‘Sammy’ of USA), Judith Akinyi Aloo, Wycliffe Otieno (ABSA Bank KPLC), the late Janet Adhiambo Ooko, Joyce Olewe-Ng’ong’a (UN), Deborah Auma Olewe (USA), Willis Juma (USA) and Godfrey Ochieng’ Olewe (USA). Mother-in-law of the late Major Collins Ooko, Beatrice Ochieng’, Alfred Aloo, Dorothy Otieno, Dr Moses Ng’ong’a, Alice Juma, Sheila Olewe.

Grandmother of Mikah Ochieng’, Mandela Ochieng’, Jason, Lisa Rozbel, Ellen Aloo-Tanner (USA), Maureen Sande, Grace, Noella, Brenda, Keke, Hellen Amimo, Faith Aluoch, Jeremy Olewe, Joy Daniella, Jeffrey Ooko (Geneva), Beverley Ooko, Sharon, Jeremy Ng’uono, George, Michael, Sonia and Janet. Great grandmother to Sulwe, Alfie, Judy, Adriel, Andrew, Gabriel.

Sister of the late Freda Boyi, the late Prisca Omange, Mary Adongo, Samuel Nyadida Yimbo, the late Walter Oluoch Yimbo, Joyce Amimo, Grace Yimbo, the late Monica Ariwi, Deborah Ojwang, Joel, Silas, Peter, William, Rhoda Rabut, Elizabeth Akinyi, Martin, Washington and many others.

The cortege will leave Maseno Mission Hospital on 9th July, 2021 and thereafter burial will take place on the same day in Kopudo Nyandeje, Seme, Kisumu County.
