MAMA PHILISTA WASONGA ODERA “NYOKUKU”

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our beloved Mother Mama Philista Wasonga Odero, on 21st September, 2021 at her home in Asembo.

Daughter to the late Mzee Adonija Okuku and Mama Salome Ngolo. A loving sister to the late Most Rev. Cardinal Abisaye Oketch Okuku of Nomiya Church of Gospellers and the late Mama Christina Uduma. Wife to the late Mzee Peter Odero. A cherished mother to Mama Anastasia Olulo, Senior Archbishop Cornel Bunde of Nomiya Church Of Gospellers, the late Evans Ojal and Mama Paskalia Amondo.

Co-wife to the late Mama Consolata Awuor and Mama Alice Odera. Step-mother to the late Syprose Bura, Sister Domciana, Lilian Akinyi, the late Mourice Otieno and the late Lucia Atieno. Mother-in-law to the late Dalmas Olulo, Wilkister Bunde, Dorothy Bunde, Consleta Bunde, Margaret Ojal and Mathew Otieno Omollo. An adored grandmother to George Arwa, Otieno, Collins, Kefa, amongst many others. She has left Behind 3 children, 58 grandchildren, 80 Great-grandchildren and 19 Great-great-grandchildren. A loving niece, aunt, and friend to many.

The Funeral Service will be held at her home in Asembo Kakia, Ndege village, on Saturday 9th October, 2021, starting at 10.00am. Thereafter, the cortege will proceed to the burial site for a private family interment.
