MONICAH WAIRIMU KIHUNGI (MAITU)

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we, WAKI Family announce the passing on to heaven of our Matriarch Mrs. Monicah Wairimu Kihungi (Maitu) of Gutuura Farm, Elburgon, on 21/04/2021.

Monicah was the daughter of the late Gacheru Wa Munyinyi and Nyokabi (Wangui). She is sister to the late Grace Waithera Njuguna, the late Macharia, the late John Gacheru, the late Andrew Gacheru, the late Wanjiku and many others. Loving wife to the late Michael Kihungi Kimotho (Michael Dagitari).

Mother to Lucy Thang’a, Catherine Ndungu, the late James Kimotho, Esther Mumbi Gilbert, Grace Karungu, the late Charles Gacheru, Florence Wanderi, George Mageria, the late Willy Macharia, Sophia Gichinga, ane Makumi and Peter Kihungi.

Mother-in-law to Eng Paul Gichuhi, George Ndungu, Susan Kimotho, Peter Gilbert, Dr. John Karungu, the late Elisha Wanderi, Veronica Mageria, Faith Macharia, James Makumi, Morris Gichinga and Joyce Wanjohi. Grandmother of 32 and great-grandmother of 32.

The cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home – Nakuru at 8.00am, on 27/04/2021 Requiem Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church Elburgon followed by private (family only) burial ceremony at her Gutuura Farm, Elburgon. Please note; Covid-19 protocols will be strictly adhered to.

Maitu who taught us hard work, the power of prayer and achieved quite a lot here on earth will be deeply missed.

“In God’s hands, you rest, in our hearts you remain forever.” Amen!
