It is with profound sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of retired teacher and retired A. C. K Lay Reader, Mwalimu Nelson Mwaniki Karani (HSC) that occurred on 9/10/2021.

Son of the late Joseph Karani Kiande and the late Grace Mutitu Karani. Loving husband of Elizabeth Njura Mwaniki and Son-in-Law of the late Njeru Kanjama and the late Anne Rwamba Njeru. Father of John Muturi (Embu County Government), Winnie Gikuu, Morton Nthiga, Edwin Muchangi, Jim Kinyua,Anne Muthoni and the late Joseph Njue. Brother of Harriet Runji, Prof. Edwin Ireri (Worldwide Promoters of Ambidextrity), Rosemary Wanyaga (Retired Teacher), Madrine Rwamba, Catherine Njoki and the late Joyce Ruguru. Brother-in-law to Mary Muthoni and the late Stephen Munyi. Cousin to Wilson Kinyua, Prof Anthony Mureithi Kinyua of Maryland USA, Uncle to Anne Ireri (ED, FIDA Kenya) and others.

Cousin, Grandfather and Great Grandfather to many.

The cortege will leave Kyeni Mission Hospital Mortuary at 8:30 AM for the Burial service at A.C.K St. Matthew Kiangima Church on Friday 15/10/2021, and thereafter proceed to his home for final rest at Kivangua (Mutunduri) adjacent to Rianjagi coffee Factory in Embu County.
