MZEE GILBERT MOSES APIYO ORENGO

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mzee Gilbert Moses Apiyo Orengo on February 19th, 2021 after a short illness. He hails from Kotetni village, Korando sub location Kisumu County.

He was the beloved husband to the late Mama Hannah Apiyo Orengo and Mama Rose Akoth Apiyo. He was the father to Pastor Barack Orengo, Josephine Orengo Juma, George Otieno Apiyo, Vincent Apiyo, Ibrahim Orengo, Roselyne Orengo, Beryl Ouma, the late Monica Ochieng, the late Elphas Odhiambo, the late Ether Otieno, and tho late Margaret Apiyo.

He was father-in-law to the late Maurice Ochieng, Maurice Juma Ndege, Paul Otieno, Miriam Kasiva Orengo, Rose Adorn, Adelide Malala Otieno, Beatrice Aluoch Apiyo, Juliana de Souza Orengo, Ely Ouma and Joyce Ominde among others. He was blessed with 24 grandchildren and I I great grandchildren.

He was the brother to the late Daniel Ominde, and the late Margaret Ogosi. He was cousin to Joshua Atieno, Elisha Olando, Lameck Ochuka, Mary Alice Ochieng, the late Edwin Sweta among others.

He was uncle to Isaac Ominde,Alphonse, Festus, Benter, Keziah, Rispah, the late Aineah Ominde, the late Apollo Ganda, Isaac Gwendo among others. He was brother-in-law to the Mama Flora Ominde, Mary Ominde, Evelyne Sweta, the late Prisca Ominde, Betty Sedda among others.

There will be a Harambee on Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 at his home Kotetni village at 2:00pm to offset the funeral expenses.

The celebration of his life service will be held on Thursday the 11th, March 2021 at AIC Kotetni, Kisumu at 2.00p m. He will finally be laid to rest on Saturday 13th, March 2021 at his home, Kotetni village, Kisumu.

In God’s hand you rest. You may be gone from our sight but will forever remain in our hearts.
