It is with profound sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mzee Johannes Otieno Andala of Bonda village, Kakarao Location, Migori County, which occurred on the 15th of December 2020.

Son of the late Jacob Andala and the late Asande Wandiji. Step son of Mama Nereah Auma. A loving husband of Mama Rusalina Adhiambo Otieno.

Devoted father of Hon. Justice P.J. Otieno, Hellen Okoth (Maseno Law Court), Eunice Auma, Mary Otieno, Nicholas Onyango, Benard Okoth, Grace Otieno (Otieno Olang’o & Co. Advocates) and Josephine Otieno.

Brother of the late Anjelina Awiti, the late Cyprina Awuor, Jared Amimo, Rusalina Amollo, Jenipher Deya, Joseph Ochanda, the ate Pius Ouma and Mary Akinyi.

In-law of the late Mzee Zacharia Nyasime and the to Mama Lucia Akong’o of Nyasoko Village, Migori County.

An in-law of Mzee Cornel Odeny & Mama Margaret Odeny, the late Michael Opiyo & Isabella Ondiek, Margaret Adhiambo & George Oyugi, the late Peter Odhiambo & Martha Atieno, Francis Nyabanda & Mary Auma, the late Doctor Isidore Awiti and Mama, Yuanita Auma, the late Ojwang Okinda and Mary Akeyo.

Brother-in-law of Mary Atieno Ayalo, Charles Odhiambo, Benard Otieno, Silper Atieno, Mary Adhiambo, Caren Anyango and  Flora Atieno.

Father-in-law of Rose Odeny, Dennis Okoth, Fredrick Onyango, Beatrice Awuor, Millicent Akinyi, Geoffrey Awiti and Jeff Odhiambo. Adored grandfather of Angelo, Gregory, Mitchell, Vincent, Paul, Gabriel, Griffin, Austine, Noela, Veronica, Clinton, Effy, Maryline, Collins, Rose, Michael, Nadia, Maryline, and Stephan. An uncle of many.

The cortege leaves St. Joseph’s Ombo Mission Hospital on Monday 21/12/2020 for a requiem mass at St Joseph’s Ombo Mission Catholic Church.

Burial will take place at Mzee’s home in Bonda Village, Kakrao Ward, Kakrao Location, Migori County, on Tuesday 22/12/2020.

2nd Timothy 4:7 You have fought a good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith. In God’s hands you rest but in our hearts you will forever live.
