Son to the Late Omagwa Magata and Late Christine Sandimu. He was step-son to Late Mariana Chiebunga and Teresia Kerubo. Husband to Susan and Wilter. Father to Owen Magata (Advocate Nakuru), Rose (Deputy Mbiiani Pri. School Machakos), Nancy, Douglas (USA), Ruth, Vincent, Edwin, Doricah, Magata-(Wakenya Pamoja Sacco) and Gatembo (Student TUK).
