PROF. PETER SHALO LUCHELI, PH.D., EBS

We regret to announce the sudden death of Prof. Peter Shalo Lucheli, which occurred on 9th February, 2022.

He was a distinguished and world-renowned scholar and long serving Professor of Food Science and Technology at Egerton University. At the time of his demise, he was serving as Professor in the School of Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences and Technology (SAVET) of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST).

Prof. Shalo was the son of the late Jairo Lucheli and the late Robai Nechesa. He was the brother to Dinah Limwechela, the late Richard Songa, the late Elijah Fundi, Joshua Namisi, Reuben Muchika and Enock Shangala. A loving husband to the late Sarah Nasimiyu Shalo and Lydia Mulinga Shalo.

Father to the late Christine Wayeta, Caroline Nechesa (Egerton University), Anthony Lucheli, Arthur Masayi and Timothy Luvonga (MTRH). Father-in-law to Roger Morera, William Kihia, Susan Wambui Masayi and Scarlet Kavaya Luvonga. Grandfather to Bradley, Cyndy, Marion, Eric, Natalie, Britney, Warren, Melissa and Tanita.

Burial will be on Saturday, 19th February, 2022 at his home in Malichi Village, Chimuche Sub-Location, East Kabras Location, Malaya Sub-County of Kakamega County.
