Professor Benson Kaguongo Wambari

It is with deep sorrow, but great peace, that we announce the passing of Benson Kaguongo Wambari on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Kaguongo went to be with the Lord Jesus after an illness that was truly bravely borne.

Kaguongo was the son of the late Bishop Andrew Wambari Gichuha and the late Isabella Waruguru Gichuha of Kijabe. He was the loving husband of Wanjiru Muchunu Wambari and beloved father of Wambari and his wife Wambui, Waruguru, Nduta, Peter and Wambui Kirimi, and Kabui. He was the doting grandfather of Ayubu, Hope, Jonathan, Joel, Zuriela and Ariella. He was a brother to the late Jonah Gichuha, the late Bernice Wambui, the late Stephen Njoroge, the late Priscilla Wanjiru, the late Obadiah Thumbi, Ruth Nyamweru, the late Joseph Ng’ang’a, Esther Njeri, the late Eunice Wangui, Elijah Karanja, Virginia Gathoni and Miriam Mukuhi. He was a treasured brother in-law, uncle, cousin, colleague, professor, teacher and friend to many.

Friends and family will be gathering for a memorial service on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at the family home in Ridgeways from 2.00 p.m.

The cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 7.30 a.m. for Kaguongo’s final journey to his resting place in Kanjai, Githunguri, Kiambu County.
