PROTUS NKURU KATHENYA

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing on of our beloved Protus Nkuru Kathenya of Tharaka Nithi County Government on 17th July 2020 after a short illness. Until his death, he served as the Assistant Director of Trade & Investments – Tharaka Nithi County.

Son of the Late Andrew Kathenya Makando & Late Consolata Kabuuru and Saraflna Kathenya. Son-in-law of the late Ephantus Thari & Edith Thari of Wiru, Chogoria. Loving husband of Keziah Kagendo Thari (Principal St. Luke’s School for the Deaf – Embu). Father of Michael Kimathi Nkuru (CPF Financial Services – Nairobi) and Arch. Christine Kawira Nkuru (Wuhan University of Technology -China). Father-in-law of Cecilia Mbuthia (ASL HFD). Grandfather of Amari Mutethia among others. Brother of Makarius Kathenya, Jacinta Mathenge, Magdaline Karimi, James Kathenya and Celina Kathenya. Brother-in-law of Mary Kanini, Jane Kaiira, Josephine Mukwanyaga, Jerkin Thari, Eunice Murugi, Jeremy Thari, William Thari, Winnie Thad, Julia Makarius, Mpanda Mathenge & Lenity Kathenya. Loving uncle, cousin, colleague, mentor and friend to many.

Family, relatives and friends are meeting at his home in Tunyai, Tharaka Nithi County and St Luke s School for the Deaf in Embu for funeral arrangements and prayers from 3p.m daily.

Protus shall be laid to rest at his home in Tunyai Village, Tharaka Nithi County on Friday 24th July 2020. The cortege shall leave Gakwegori Funeral Home in Embu County at 8am followed by a funeral service at his home at 11am.
