REV. DR NAPHTALY MATTAH

Rev. Dr Naphtaly Mattah of Kakiimba. Mfangano Island, went to be with on the 21st of July 2020 having been ill for 3 months at a Nairobi hospital. He leaves behind his Loving wife Nereah Mattah, his children Calvary, Joy, and Harmony; his brother Gabriel Mattah and sisters Leunora, Agness, Cecilia and Siprossa among many others.

He was born on 5th of August 1966 to the late Pascallia Mattah and Pius Oketch Mattah from Mfangano Island. He worked as the Project Leader for the Suba Bible Translation and Literacy and was an ordained Minister of the Gospel. He was the Executive Director of Gethsemane Garden Christian Centre on Mfangano Island and became the first Minister for Education and ICT In Homabay County and the founding National Secretary of the Education CECs.

Naphtaly was a Man of God and a devoted father to rnany. He was a Man of Honour and integrity and great passion for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was a dedicated Barcelona fan and generally loved and supported sports and sporting activities.

His love for his family, both nuclear and extended was unmatched. He was passionate about bettering lives of ordinary folks and went the full throttle to lessen poverty among his people. He will be deeply missed by his friends and famity and all who knew and worked with him.

The body will be flown from Homa-Bay to Mangano Island on Thursday 6th August 2020, followed by a Viewing Union at the Mangano Island Airstrip after which a restricted Burial Ceremony will be held on Friday 7th August, 2020.
