ROBERTS OKOTH ANG’IRO

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mr. Roberts Okoth Ang’iro of Konyango, Kendu Bay, Karachuonyo on 17th July 2021 after a long illness bravely borne.

First son to the late Ang’iro Okoth and the late Mama Elsa Nyamgwala (Nyawere). Brother to Bishop Philemon Okoth Ang’iro of Miracle Land Ministries; the late Phillis “Phillisia” Agola, and Linnet “Linna” Atieno. Devoted husband to Rosemary Okoth and Pamela Nyawade Okoth. Loving father to Emma Okoth, Evelyn Okoth, David Okoth, Nereah Mary Okoth, Jane Okoth, Joab Timothy Okoth, James Daniel Okoth, Dr Maxwel Okoth of RFH Healthcare, Job Okoth, Paul Okoth, Fenny Linnet Okoth, and Andrew Okoth. Doting grandfather to Heidi, Arya, Shem,Abby, Sizwe, Sivanna, Siani, and Hannah.

Grandson of the late Okoth Nyawawa and Gao Nyadwera. Son-in-law of the late John Charles Omondi and Joyce Omondi of Ugenya; Jane Opindo and the late Joab Opindo of Gem; brother-in-law to Fred, Jim, Hellen, Andrew Nyawade (TOGAN), Merab Awino, Agnes among many others. Father-in-Law to Dr Joan Kinyanjui, Curtis, Evan, Calvin, Lencer, Caitlin, and Sandra.

Uncle to Jim, Mark, Molly, Eddie, Jonah, Ephiel, Beverly, Calvin, Tonny, Biko, Ken, Val, Martin, Erick, Olisa, Ian Wafula among others. Brother to Susanna Osir, Andrew Okoth, William Omolo, Peninah Akeyo, Florah, Rose, Dorin Akinyi, Mboya, Min Tobi, Peter Ochuma, David Otieno, Nereah, Elijah Odhiambo, Muda, Fred, Risper, Dan, Leni, and others.

Before retiring, Mzee taught at St Mary’s School-Yala, Obera Boys, Olare Mixed Secondary, Kameji Secondary, Kendu Muslim Secondary and Agape Academy.

Mzee succumbed after a long stay in the Critical Care Unit at RFH Specialist Hospital, Nairobi. The cortege leaves Wilson Airport in Nairobi for final rites and burial at his home in Konyango Village, Kendu Bay in Homa Bay County, on Saturday 24th July, 2021. Physical attendance will be limited as per Covid-19 protocols. Online live stream link will be provided for viewers who might not be able to physically attend.
