RTD. ELDER EVAN NJOROGE KUNGU

In humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the passing to glory of Evan Njoroge Kungu at 97years. He was a Retired Elder at PCEA Kihumbuini & Kiunyu Parishes.

Mr. Njoroge was the son of the late Kungu Ndaba and the late Rebecca Wangui. He was a loving husband to Emily Wanjiku. Loving father of Mwalimu Emma Wangui Karanja & Rufa Karanja, Mary Muito & George Muito, Eva Wanjiru Donn & Donald Koontz, John Kungu & Alice Kahaki Kungu, Kepha Mucui & Hilda Kagendo, Mercy Wairimu Kamicha & Kamau Kamicha, Samuel Mburu & Elder Jemimah Mburu, Nancy Njeri & Maina Mathenge, Esther Wanjiru Karanja & Elder Karanja Kiboi and Anne Wambui.

He was the adored grandfather of 24 grandchildren who include Chrispin Njathi Ruva, King’ori Muito, Chris Njoroge, Victor Wainaina Kungu, Njoroge Mucui, Peter Kamicha, Evan Njoroge Mburu, Mark Mathenge Maina, Natalie Wanjiku Karanja and Linus Kanyiri. – He was blessed to be a great-grandfather of 18 and great great grandfather of one.

He was brother of Mbiyu Kungu, Stanley Gitau, Njuguna Kungu, Milka Uiru, Delilah Njeri Mwaura, Julia Wambui Kagunya, Esther Muthoni Gakuru and the last born Samuel Kamau; the last two being his surviving siblings.

Prayers and meetings are being held every day at his home in Mwambato Village, Thuita and in Nairobi at Homeland Inn off Thika Road from 5:30pm.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Funeral Home (Thika Road) on Thursday 17th December 2020 at 7am. Funeral service will be held at P.C.E.A Riaini Church, Thuita Sub-Location, Kihumbuini location, Gatanga Sub-County, Muranga County from 10am. Thereafter burial will be held at his home in Mwambato Village, Thuita Sub-Location.

Your great legacy of peace, mentorship, dedication and commitment to family, church and community continues to be perpetuated through those you deeply touched.
