STANLEY MAGIRI M’RINKANYA (MWALIMU STANLEY)

Born 1924 – Sunset 2021

We announce the death of our family patriarch, the late Magiri M’Rinkanya aka (Mwalimu Stanley). While the age of a loved one does not negate pain when they pass away, at 97+ years the family is grateful to the Lord for the rich legacy he has left us.

Born son of the late M’Rinkanya Muthenyura and the late Mary Karega M’Rinkanya, M’Magiri was also step son to late Ciogikutha M’Rinkanya and step brother to late Joseph M’Iringo and late Kaimuri Nt’ungaruni. Loving husband of 69 years to Biribina igoki Magiri and both were blessed to be parents to Helen Kiriiri, the late Charles Majau, Julius Muriungi, Elizabeth Nduru, the late Festus Kimathi, Jane Nteere, Rose Karambu, Margaret Kathambi Gitonga, James Karani and Elias Gitari.

He was father-in-law to Catherine Charles, Geofrey Kiriiri, Catherine Muriungi, late Kagendo Kimathi, Edward Nteere, Lawrence Gitonga-Bongo, Eunice Karani and Doris Gitari. Adorable Grandpa to 27 grand children and over 23 great grand children. Uncle to Margaret Marang’u, the late Faustino Murungi (Macho), the late Nteere M’Iringo, Kirimi M’Iringo among others. Cousin to the late Henry M’Riria, Felix Marete M’Mukira, the late M’Mburugu Kanake , Elija M’Mukira among others.

The cortege leaves St. Theresa Mission Hospital Kiirua, Meru on Friday 15th October 2021 at 8.30a.m. for a Holy Mass service at Igandene Catholic Parish Church at 10.30 am followed by interment at his home Mukurungune Village.

Burial arrangements will take place daily at St. Paul’s Catholic University Chapel from Monday to Wednesday, and daily at Prime Regend Hotel Nkubu and at his home in Igandene from 5.30pm.
