BARNABAS OSORO UMBA

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Mr. Barnabas Osoro Umba, which occurred after a long illness on 18th February, 2022 at Valley Hospital – Nakuru.

Son of the late Paul Umba Opiyo and the late Silpa Owaga Umba of Kamaena Village, West Kwabwai Location, Kobama Division – Ndhiwa, Homabay County. Son-in-law of Shem Jonyo Odera and the late Yucabeth Owili Jonyo of Kamigamba, Kasdula Sub-location, Awendo, Migori County.

Loving husband of Nelly Akinyi Osoro. Father of Alfred Omondi, Queen Injere, Nick Osoro and Sharon Osoro. A doting grandfather of Beau Omondi, Didier Omondi, Alfred Injere, Nelly Injere, Imorah Aherro and Bella Aherro. Father-In-law of Alexandria Omondi, Dr Jacob Injere and Willis Aherro.

Brother of the late Simon Akoth, the late Shadrack Okumu, the late Irene Omodho, the late Noah Opere, the late Robinson Omogi, Bernard Oyugi, Simon, Ouma Nyamwanga, Philip Odere, Siprosa Akongo Odhiambo, Harrison Umba, Dorice Akongo, Joyce Ayieko Nyamiro, among others.

Brother-in-law to: Dr. Bonn & Dr. Dorothy, Ezra & Beryl, Prof. Fred & Jackline, Dorothy & Albert, Benter & Amb. Ogutu, the late Jimmy, Asenath, Jane, Christine, Anna, Risper, the late Josephine among others. In-laws of Mr & Mrs George Joncas (Canada), Mr. Dickson & Dorothy Afude (Busia) and the late Eusabius & Margaret Aherro of Karachuonyo Seka.

Uncle of Diana, Mike, Ben, Rose, Dan, Apondi, Michelle, Norah, Wycliffe, among others. A cousin and friend to many.

There will be a harambee on 27th February, 2022 at City Mission, Section 58 Nakuru starting at 4:00pm.

The cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home – Nakuru on 1st March, 2022 at 2:00pm for a requiem mass thereafter at Nakuru Central SDA Church. The body will stay in Nakuru at his Section 58 home for the night and will leave for Kamaena Village, Kwabwai Location on the 2nd March, 2022.

The Burial and Funeral service will be held on 3rd March, 2022 at his home in Kwabwai, Ndhiwa Location, Homabay County.
