Widow to Philip Achieng’ Matete of Kano Kobura, Ong’eche Village. Daughter of the late Joseph Obado Mingeedi and Mariam Onyango of Sakwa Bondo, Ndira. Daughter-in-law of late Chief Erasto Matete and Esther Aduda. Co-wife of Esther Monday Nyakundi. Mother of the late Jacktone Victor, Robert Matete, Dr. George Matete (CD BRAC, Uganda), James Matete, Paul Matete, Harold Mumbo, Denis Chute, Naaman William, Maryanne Matete and Judith Akinyi. Mother-in-law of Agnes Dawa, Ruth Ayall, Caroline Dede, Mildred Lirango & Bonventure Lumula.

Sister of the late Bill Joseph, Hezborn Owuor, Eva Donde, Perez Ang’awa and Shem Okinyo. Sister-in-law of Dr. Francis and Naomi Matete, Calvin Obong’o, Edward Mayoga, Pamela Abuto, Sofia Otieno, Florence Oogo, Monica Oogo, the late Susan Aluoch, Benson Sinoga and Catherine Midodo, among others. In-laws are Peter and Elizabeth Dawa (Kamagambo Sare), Justo & Loise Ayal (Seme Kombija), Helida Dede (Gem Aluor), Erastus & Scholastica Lirango (Isulu K.K),Andrea & Philomena Lumula (Bumila-Eregs). A dear aunt, loving sister-in-law, cousin. grandmother and friend of many.

The cortege leaves Kisumu District Mortuary, on 27/11/2020 at 12.00noon for a memorial service at the New St Stephens ACK Kisumu.

Burial on 28/11/2020 at her home in Kano-Kobura, Ong’eche Village.
