It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to Glory of Mama Elizabeth Khayanje Wakhungu, on 17th November 2021 at Lugulu Mission Hospital.

Daughter of the late Joseph Ngaira and the late Mama Maria Mwayitsi of Friends Mission Malaya. Daughter-in-law of the late Mzee Lutukayi and the late Naomi Khanjila. She was the wife of the late Fredrick Wakhungu Lutukayi of Namawanga Village, Bokoli. Co-wife to the late Elisheba Nasipwondi Wakhungu. Beloved mother of Wilson Wambani, Florence Kapten, Charles Wafula and Mary Sisenda.-Step-mother of Judith Nafula, the late Francis Wanyonyi, Margaret Wabomba, Everett Walela, William Kibulo, Elsie Robai and Rose Nekesa.

Mother-in-law to Agnes Wambani, Janet Wafula, the late Hon. George Kapten and the late Matthew Sisenda.

Sister to the late Benjamin Shitsugane, the late Peter Ayuku, the late Sarah Adede, the late Rhoda Standa, the late Priscilla Bulimo, the late Julia Masinde, Jedidah Mandara, Hellen Simani, Manoa Shivachi, Margaret Kataka, Abigail Githunguri, the late Delilah Ngaira, Milcah Choka and Millah Ngaira.

Sister-in-law to the late William Kibulo, the late Wilberforce Khandia, the late Jacton Wanyonyi, the late Susanna Nekesa, the late Julius Masinde, the late Matthews Wanyama, the late Ruth Nakhanui the-late Joseph Simiyu and Anna Mulati. Basakwo to Mama Flora Nelima Nalianya, the late Ben Kapten, Japheth Wepukhulu, the late Peter Sisenda, the late McKenzie Ndalila, the late Japheth Kilobi, Ezekiel Munandi and Ramadhan Machio.

Grandmother to Ben, Dorothy, the late Agnetta, Sylvester, Hellen, Philip, Michael, Kenneth, Lydia, Joseph, Belinda, Jimmy, Leah, Sally, Brian, Allan, Esau, Nicky, Catherine, Julie, Emmy, the late Joseph, Fredrick and Elizabeth. Great grandmother to many.

Contributions to cater for hospital and funeral expenses are on-going through PAYBILL number 8034851- Elizabeth Wakhungu Funeral Fund (for account number, enter your name). Further, a fundraiser will be held at her home in Namawanga Village, Bokoli, on Wednesday 24th November 2021 from 11.00 am.

The cortege leaves Lugulu Mission Hospital Mortuary on Friday 26th November 2021 at 2pm. The funeral service will take place at her Namawanga village home, Bokoli, on Saturday 27th November 2021 from 9am.
