GEOFFREY NKANDO MARETE

It is with deep shock and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Geoffrey Nkando Marete which occurred on the 28th September 2020 after a sudden illness. Formerly Headmaster Kiirua Secondary School and HOD Kibirichia Boys.

Son of Late M’Marete M’Mukindia and Jennifer Nchoro Marete. Loving husband to Julie Kiende Marete of Kamarai Village, Kiamiogo Location, Kibirichia Ward. Son-in-law to late Francis Mbatiah Karonga and Martha Naitore Mbatiah. Brother-in-law to Mbatia’s Family of Ntakira Sublocation, Ncaure — Maigene village. Adoring dad to Lucyline Nkatha, Jane Marete formerly of SMASE and CEMASTEA, Late James Gatobu Marete, Josephine Nkirote of Glenmark Pharma Ltd, Joyce Kathambi and Justus Muthuri of National Bank. Father in law to Stephen Gatungi, Casty Gatwiri, Benjamin Maina, Faith Njoki among others.

He was grandfather to Prudence Kanana & Karambu; Emily Wanjiru & Emmanuel Nduati; Oscar Muchai & Sheril Gacheri, Alpha Mugambi & baby Alisha Kendi and Baby Enock Kiama. Great grandfather to Obrian Muthomi. He was a brother to late Tabitha Ngari Mbui, Lydia Karoki Maingi, Charity Kinanu Buuri and late Samuel Mwirigi. Nephew to the late N’Kiambati M’Mukindia and N’Maasai N’Mukindia. Cousin to the Late Francis N’ltunga Family, Late Fredrick M’Mbwiria and M’Itonga M’iringo. He was a teacher, mentor, Chair of the Nkama Clan and friend to many.

Friends and relatives are meeting at his home in Kamarai Village in Kibirichia for funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves St. Theresa Hospital — Kiirua on Wednesday 7th October 2020 for burial at his home in Kamarai Village, Kibirichia location.
