MAMA FLORENCE KHASOA SIMIYU

It is with great sadness that we announce untimely death of Mama Florence Khasoa Simiyu which occurred on 10th November 2021.

Mama Florence was married to the love of her life Mr. Herbert Simiyu Okumu and were blessed with Edward, Anthony (deceased), Fred (deceased), Josephine, Joseph, Joan and John. She was the 2nd born child of the late Jestimore Wamalwa (Omulunda) and the late Tecla Nafuna (Omusime). Her siblings included the late Canon Venerable David Wafula Khang’ati, Richard Nyukuri, Agnes Lumbasi, George Wamalwa, Mukamani, Benson Kundu, Lumumba Wamalwa, Imelda Kong’ani, Mukhwana, Mulongo, Lumbasi and Fridah Masinde. She was a dotting grandmother to Tecla, Hannan, Herbert, Florence, Nigel, Felicity, Raphael, JB, and Ela (No. 9).

Daughter in-law to:The late Mzee Joseph Biked Okumu and the late Josephine Nasike Okumu; sister in-law to Gregory Nalianya, Prof. Wafula Okumu, Monica Sifuna, Majimbo Okumu, Joan, Media, Mildred, the late Godfrey, Nancy, Jacky, Dosa, the late Moureen, Brenda, Monica Khang’ati, Rose Simiyu, Bibiana Nyukuri, Angela Kundu and Rose Simiyu.

The cortege leaves Lifecare Mortuary on Friday 19th November 2021 for a requiem mass at Christ the King Cathedral – Bungoma before proceeding to her home in Ranje village.

Funeral Mass will held on Saturday, 20th November, 2021 at Ranje Primary School grounds. Later her body will be interred at her Ranje home.
